We had pizza and salad for dinner mmm mmm good!
Pizza Dough Ingredients:
1 Tbs. active dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
1 cup warm water (105° to 115°F)
2.5 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil
-In a small bowl dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water and let stand until foamy, about 5 min.
-In the bowl combine the flour and salt and basil.
-Slowly add the yeast mixture, allowing each addition to be absorbed before adding more.
-knead about 10 min.
-Coat the inside of a large bowl with the olive oil and place the dough in the bowl.
-Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hr.
-Preheat oven to 450*
-Place in oven for 5-8 min.
-Top as desired and place in the oven again until golden brown around the edges (about 15 min). (this pizza had no sugar added sauce, part skim monzerrella, olive and a sprinkle of parmesan.
-Remove from oven and serve immediately.
Ava and Jonathan loved this pizza! I thought it was okay! I’m a HUGE crust fan…I love my crust to be medium thickness and very soft/chewy. This crust was soft and a bit chewy but very thin! I think next pizza night we will try a different recipe and maybe try a BBQ chicken pizza. If you like thin chewy crust this recipe is a good one.
