I’m a young mother learning the art of balancing.
For years I have struggled with my weight and I’m now learning its not about the number on the scale or the size of your pants. Its about feeling good. Its about eating fresh healthy foods and staying active.
Growing up I was raised on mostly a vegetarian diet. Even today my diet is mostly vegetarian. On occasion though I do love a good hamburger. I’m a firm believer that everything in moderation is a good thing. I love vegetables, fruits and SWEETS! I’m not going to pass up a piece of chocolate cheesecake just because it doesn’t fit into my diet. You only live once, right? If you eat good for you foods most of the time indulging every once in awhile is NO BIG DEAL!!
I sadly do not have a gym membership, but I’m learning that you don’t have to spend an hour at the gym sweating to be strong and healthy. Over the past few years I have learned to find other ways to stay active. Yoga, walking, lifting light weights, running after a little three-year-old.
I have a beautiful toddler that is FULL OF LIFE!!! She definitely keeps me busy. I’m determined to raise her with a healthy food-loving attitude.
I hope you all enjoy the recipes, photos, food/lifestyle tips and ideas. I hope that by reading this little blog you too can find happiness in your everyday life without overindugling in guilty pleasures.

Avocados have 60% more potassium than Bananas. They contain more Fiber than any other fruit. One-fifth of an avocado contains 50 calories and 20 crucial nutrients. People try to shy away from avocados due to the high fat/calorie content. What people don’t take into consideration is that avocados contain monounsaturated fat (the good kind of fat). Avocados are a great source of omega-3, helps against heart disease. So replace those fatty condiments (mayo :cringe:, sour cream, butter) with whipped avocado! Avocado also contains Lutein, which is a natural antioxidant that helps maintain eye health. Avocados are known as the “nutrient-booster” when eating with other foods avocados help your body better absorb the nutrients from the other foods! COOL! Feeling sad? EAT AN AVOCADO! With the amazing potassium content in this super food fatigue and depression can be stopped. Not only that but this fruit is loaded with vitamin E, which is great for your complexion. Woot woot a natural wrinkle fighter! REMEMBER: You are what you eat.
